1. Based on what you have observed list three things you might infer from the photograph.
- The President seems to be in deep thought/concentration
- He is concerned
- Wondering about what is next to come
2. Read the article title and photo caption.
3. What questions do the caption and article title raise in your mind?
- Is the severity of the the gulf spill on the same level of the hostage crisis?
- Are people implying that Obama will suffer the same fate as Carter?
- If so, can he bounce back from this effectively?
I would say this one because although this picture has a negative connotation attached to it it shows that he is concerned and does care about our country, I would be more concerned if he were smiling and jovial while this predicament was happening.
5. Do you think the editors of these news papers have a liberal or conservative bias? Why? How could you find out? I would say this paper is on a conservative bias because they are attempting to voice their opinion on a Democrat president and then compare a downfall of his to one of another Democrat president.
